APPEARANCE OF COUNSEL

SMALL-TOWN LAWYER Joe Gleason wants to start a family and get ahead without selling out to the blue blood law firms of Boston. The young attorney's plan to escape the low reaches of surrogate justice, however, is shattered when a local contractor retains him for a routine collection case that ultimately escalates to murder. Things become even more complicated for Gleason when Boston detectives Jack Mundi and Reva Smith begin to unravel another mystery: that of a lower echelon mobster contracted by a Beacon Hill lawmaker to smuggle a handgun into the Cambridge Superior Courthouse. When the good stand up to people of design, untimely death may just be a matter of when. . .
