JOHN MCALEER
graduated from Harvard
University with a Ph.D. in English Literature
and was the author of over a dozen books
including the Edgar Award-winning biography
of Rex Stout, the well-received mystery,
Coign of Vantage, and was nominated for
the Pulitzer Prize for his biography of
Ralph Waldo Emerson. He has written critically
acclaimed studies of Thoreau and Dreiser,
as well as the definitive novel on the Korean
War, Unit Pride.
A Bostonian and a professor of English at
Boston College, Mr. McAleer passed away
on November 19th, 2003.
